A space for reflection, experimentation, and artistic inquiry.
We’re thrilled to open our very first international call for applications, and we’re inviting performing artists from across the Asia-Pacific region to join us in Phnom Penh, Cambodia for a one-month residency rooted in process over product, questions over conclusions, and dialogue over isolation.
The Performance Lab was born from a desire to hold space for artists to go deeper — to step away from production timelines and toward something slower, more intentional, and more personal.
This residency is for you if:
— You’re a performing artist (theater, dance, music, performance art, or anything in between)
— You hold nationality from an Asia-Pacific country
— You have a question or direction you’re ready to explore
— You value process, experimentation, and open-ended inquiry
— You’re 18+ and comfortable working in English
We offer:
A one-month residency in July, August, or September 2025
$800 USD artist grant
Accommodation at tiSamjort, a welcoming artist home in Phnom Penh
Unlimited access to our black box theater + shared studio space
Support and dialogue with our team
A public sharing moment—designed by you
There’s no pressure to produce a final work. We’re far more interested in where your curiosity takes you — and how we can walk alongside you during that time.
Deadline: 22 May 2025 (11:59 PM GMT+7)
We’ve designed this program with care—and we’re excited to meet the artists who will shape its very first edition.
If this speaks to you, we hope you’ll apply.
And if someone comes to mind—someone who’s ready for space, time, and artistic growth—please pass this along.
